Big Basin State Park is an amazing park that has managed to preserve many ancient redwoods from logging. Some trees are so big the whole family can fit inside. Pictures won’t do these enormous redwood trees justice – you must stand beside them to grasp their size. Start your adventure by standing inside the massive hollow redwood tree next to the visitor center bathrooms. After that, the Redwood Loop Trail is stroller accessible and features many trees you won’t want to miss. You can continue on the Skyline-to-the-sea trail for some lovely scenery and fun trees to play on, but after a certain point this trail will be difficult for a stroller to navigate and you may have to let the kids walk a bit. When you've had enough wandering, come back to the visitor center and have a nice picnic next to an ancient redwood!
Alert: Very narrow and windy road to get to this park from the San Jose area. It's all part of the adventure.
