Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park is perfect to introduce your kids to some of nature’s giants. There are several ancient redwoods along the stroller-friendly Redwood Grove Loop trail. Maybe your kids will love the redwoods, or maybe they will simply want to chase the sound of the train horns from nearby Roaring Camp Railroad. Either way, its gorgeous and relaxing. The Redwood Grove Loop Trail is less than a mile, so your kids can probably handle the walk. If they have a spontaneous battery shortage, the trail is wide and flat enough for strollers! Do not miss the John C. Fremont tree about halfway on the loop trail. Your kids will love to climb inside. If you have more energy, you can take the stroller down the Pipeline Trail and get closer to the San Lorenzo River. Eventually the Pipeline trail becomes extremely steep so I would not recommend continuing with the stroller up the hill.
Note: There is a neat visitor center with some great photos and history. Check it out. Also at one corner of the Henry Cowell parking lot is a path right over to Roaring Camp Railroads. Even if the trains aren't running that day, your kids can still marvel at some of the old trains sitting on the tracks.
